Picture of the day

OK - so actually there are two pictures of the day. 

We've been anxiously awaiting the hatching of these little peeps.  The nest has been at the top of one of the columns on our side porch for at least a month, but it may be longer...it seems like it's been so long.  We've had to let Roscoe out the back door many times for fear that he would be attacked by Momma Bird. 

I finally got up on a ladder to check them out today, and I was surprised.  Dare I say...they are ugly.  Their little mouths stayed open until I got up there to snap their picture.  They then stayed so still.

There are four, although only three are showing.  The fourth is in the very back in the corner.  The first one on the left looks as if he is going to fall out but I assure you he was perfectly safe and comfortable.  You can barely see the one in the middle.  His beak is resting on the edge of the nest, but it is easiest to see his "eyebrows"...they look like they belong to an old man - fluffiness above his eyes.  I love him in the first shot!  The one to the far right decided to move his head and open his mouth.

It's been awhile!

It's been awhile so I thought I should try to get something current posted.  Cody and I went to Norfolk Botanical Garden yesterday.  We became members, and can therefore enjoy unlimited free admission for the next two years.  And I learned that we can bring non-relatives with us..up to six of us each visit.  That should come in handy for photo shoots!  I can't wait to book some sessions!  In the meantime, Cody and I will enjoy scouting locations within the garden.  Here's a peek from yesterday...

We're enjoying spring

It's been a while since I've posted.  I have to say that we've been busy enjoying all the beautiful weather.  Who wants to be on the computer when it's so gorgeous outside?  We have managed to take a few pictures.  This is curently my favorite:

Now get outside and enjoy yourself and all that God has created for us!

Picture of the day

Here is my picture of the day.  It was actually taken yesterday as the sun was going down...

Why not?

It seems that everyone has a blog these days, so why not me?  I joined a photography community earlier this week, and in order to be approved, I had to have either a website or a blog.  I gave them the address for our future website.  They emailed me back to ask if I was a spammer...well, they didn't exactly ask, but indicated that was their concern.  And I totally get it!  They approved me, and I submitted a photo for a contest.  I guess I will change my info to include this blog...and I guess I will have to keep up with it.

The contest is over at iheartfaces.  The theme is flowers.  Check out the site here.  I have learned a lot from poking around!  I had to join the community in order to view and submit photos.  They have lots of fantastic of photos!  I highly recommend it.
